Happy Independence Day to Pakistan!

Today commemorates the first day that Pakistan became a nation independent from British India.

An interesting fact is that the name of Pakistan was derived from the states that were to become a part of the new nation:

“P” for Punjab
“A” for Afghania (now known as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)
“K” for Kashmir
“S” for Sindh
“Tan” for Balochistan; thus forming “Pakstan”
