Danby, a distributor of refrigeration and specialty appliances is headquartered in Guelph, with several subsidiary locations throughout the world. The company employs over 100 people and has recently opened a factory outlet store in the city.

Danby has created a successful program assisting immigrants called “Ease into Canada”, which supports the integration of recent Syrian refugees who have settled in Guelph. Through this program, new immigrants are given a 3 month work term in line with their skills and availability, are paired with mentors, and are provided resources such as connections with Arabic-speaking employees and even on-site ESL lessons.
