January 21, 2015
The GWLIP was excited to be among the presenters at the 2015 Guelph-Wellington Economic Summit on January 30.
The summit partially focused on a mid-point review of where Guelph stands in relation to the economic development strategies laid out in Prosperity 2020.
The GWLIP’s presentation, prepared by staff in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Supports Committee, focused on the critical importance of immigrant entrepreneurship to Guelph and Wellington’s continued prosperity. It outlined why and how business support services and economic development practitioners can tune into the needs of immigrant entrepreneurs who create jobs and enhance local innovation.
Summit attendees also heard presentations from Innovation Guelph, local business leaders, City of Guelph staff, and the Workforce Planning Board.
