Open Mic: Stories of People on the Move

*** UPDATE ***

Open Mic: Stories of People on the move was a great success! A number of community members from a wide variety of  backgrounds came to tell their stories of movement. The event also evolved into a round-table forum discussing immigration and settlement issues in the community.

Thanks to all who participated and helped to make this event possible, in particular the Guelph Public Library for hosting the event, the GWLIP Grassroots Committee and those who came to share their stories.

Hopefully we’ll see everyone (and some new faces) next year!

Video: Local author Adowa Badoe talks about the power of storytelling

Have you ever moved across town? Across the Country?  Across the world? Have you been a traveler?

What was it like for you to be on the move? What was in like to be in a place after moving?

The Guelph Wellington Local Immigration partnership and the Guelph Public Libraries invite you to share your memories and stories at our Open Mic event: Stories of People on the Move.

Join us for Culture Days on September 30 from 10am to 2pm at the downtown branch of the Guelph Public Library to hear and share stories of migration and movement.

Although not required, we would appreciate if you could RSVP, particularly if you have a story to tell.
